Announcing the de Gruyter Journal Archive - Digital Access to near=

For immediate release:

de Gruyter opens up a historic source of academic knowledge - the
de Gruyter Journal Archive

Beginning this summer, the de Gruyter Journal Archive will
provide digital access to nearly 100 de Gruyter journals from
1826 to the present day. The Archive will be hosted on de
Gruyter's online platform Reference Global and will comprise over
two million pages of journal content.

The de Gruyter Journal Archive will provide access to some of the
world's oldest academic journals: The Journal fur die reine und
angewandte Mathematik (Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics),
more commonly known as Crelle's Journal, was founded in 1826 and,
as the oldest mathematical periodical still in existence, is
counted among the most important and reputable mathematical
journals. The oldest existing English Studies journal Anglia.
Zeitschrift fuer englische Philologie, was established in 1878.
Byzantinische Zeitschrift celebrated its centennial two years
ago, and Kant-Studien, the philosophical journal of the Kant
Society, will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year.

"With the de Gruyter Journal Archive we will provide rapid and
straightforward access to relevant sources in the history of
academic knowledge," Dr. Sven Fund, de Gruyter's Managing
Director, said regarding this large-scale retro-digitalisation.

The de Gruyter Journal Archive is also of international
significance, with over 50% of its contents in either English or
other non-German languages such as French and Spanish.
