Respecting preservation of digital legal materials, the American Association of Law Libraries has organized the Legal Information Preservation Alliance (LIPA): http://www.aallnet.org/committee/lipa/ which coordinates this work in the U.S., including providing guidance respecting copyright and licensing issues, http://www.aallnet.org/committee/lipa/copyright.asp One of LIPA's major initiatives is The Chesapeake Project: Legal Information Archive http://cdm266901.cdmhost.com/ a testbed archive of digital legal resources, managed by Georgetown University Law Library, the Maryland State Law Library, and the Virginia State Law Library. Chesapeake's copyright policy is at http://cdm266901.cdmhost.com/cdm4/about.php#copyright . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Robert C.
