Another instance of blatant self-promotion: In the latest issue of J of Electronic Publishing, we have a current-experience-based analysis of per-article costs for electronic-only publication on the Scholarly Exchange-hosted OJS platform: Scholarly Publishing Re-invented: Real Costs and Real Freedoms...at http://hdl.handle.net/2027/spo.3336451.0011.204 The costs work out to two orders of magnitude less than many publishers are now charging. I am certain that there will be quibbles with methodology but the relative range of costs is supportable... Julian Fisher, MD Scholarly Exchange www.scholarlyexchange.org
