Exact Editions announces the availability of institutional licenses for some of the publications distributed through the Exact Editions platform. The magazines are offered, with free trial issues which may be used for evaluation, from the 'Institutional Shop' on the Exact Editions web site. Alternatively link straight to: http://www.exacteditions.com/exact/login.do?username=shop.en.inst The Exact Editions platform leaves the publisher with the responsibility of setting the price for each magazine (for individual and for institutional subs). If you click on the 'Subscribe' labels beneath each front cover you will see the prices that each publisher has chosen. These publishers have tended to set their institutional prices in the range of 3X to 10X the individual subscription. Both types of license are priced at rather modest levels in comparison to commercial academic periodicals. There are a number of services which aggregate the content of consumer magazines. We believe the Exact Editions platform may be the first to provide library access to a range of magazines which are exact digital replicas of the original publications. In the last six months there has been considerable interest from educational institutions in several of the magazines, for which we have hitherto only been able to offer individual subs. The institutional licenses are for campus networks, tied to IP addresses. Adam Adam Hodgkin adam.hodgkin@exacteditions.com http://exacteditions.blogspot.com/
