Dear list members, A quick clarification regarding the e-mail below: Please contribute to this consultation by using the on-line questionnaire located at <http://ec.europa.eu/research/era/questionnaire_en.html>. Write an additional e-mail to rtd-era@ec.europa.eu and rtd-scientific-publication@ec.europa.eu only if you have lengthy commentary to add. Many thanks, Celina Ramjoue Research Directorate-General, Scientific publications team -----Original Message----- From: RAMJOUE Celina (RTD) Sent: Monday, June 11, 2007 4:44 PM To: 'liblicense-l@lists.yale.edu' Subject: Access to knowledge: Invitation to contribute... Access to knowledge: Invitation to contribute to the public consultation on the Green Paper on the European Research Area -- On-line questionnaire open until 31 August 2007 -- Last April, the European Commission adopted a Green Paper on "The European Research Area: New Perspectives" (http://ec.europa.eu/research/era/consultation-era_en.html#greenpaper). The Green Paper identifies "effective knowledge-sharing" as a key area for the ERA and asks whether there is a need for EU-level policies and practices to improve and ensure open access to and dissemination of raw data and peer-reviewed publications from publicly funded research results". The European Commission has published an online questionnaire addressing in more detail the questions raised in the Green Paper (http://ec.europa.eu/research/era/questionnaire_en.html). It contains a section on knowledge-sharing, including a specific question on access to scientific information (KSH2). The Scientific publications team invites you to participate in the debate by filling in the questionnaire. The two first sections of the questionnaire are compulsory, whereas other sections are voluntary. Knowledge-sharing is addressed in part four. Word or PDF versions of the consultation can be downloaded prior to completing the online version. Additional comments can be sent to rtd-era@ec.europa.eu (please send a copy to rtd-scientific-publication@ec.europa.eu). Kind regards, Research Directorate-General, Scientific publications team
