Apologies for cross-posting. We hope that this will be of interest to the list, Kind regards Grace Baynes BioMed Central PRESS RELEASE: 12 June 2006 FOUR MORE JOURNALS FROM BIOMED CENTRAL ACCEPTED FOR IMPACT FACTOR TRACKING 37 journals now have Impact Factors or are tracked by Thomson Scientific BioMed Central is pleased to announce that four more of its open access journals are now on track to receive an official Impact Factor. Thomson Scientific (ISI) has just accepted BMC Biology, Health and Quality of Life Outcomes, Molecular Cancer and Nutrition and Metabolism for citation tracking and inclusion in Web of Science. 37 journals in BioMed Central's portfolio now have an official Impact Factor, or will receive one within the next three years. In the last six months, Thomson Scientific has accepted a total of eleven journals published by BioMed Central for citation tracking and inclusion in Web of Science. In addition to the four journals listed above, BMC Developmental Biology, BMC Immunology, BMC Plant Biology, BMC Neurology, BMC Structural Biology, Microbial Cell Factories and Retrovirology have also recently been accepted. Natasha Robshaw, Director of Sales and Marketing for BioMed Central, welcomes Thomson Scientific's inclusion of the additional journals: "We are very pleased that Thomson Scientific is recognizing the success of our journals by accepting them for citation tracking. There is increasing evidence that open access articles are read and cited more than articles made available only to subscribers. The inclusion of BioMed Central journals in Web of Science makes it easier for researchers to identify those citations." BioMed Central continues discussions with Thomson Scientific, proposing additional journals to be considered for citation tracking.
