*** For Immediate Posting **** HEAD OF INFORMATION DELIVERY The International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications, (INASP) is seeking a motivated and flexible individual to work in its successful Education and Research programme. The overall objective of the programme is to strengthen research capacities in developing and transitional countries by reinforcing local efforts to produce, disseminate and gain access to scholarly information and knowledge. The specific goal of the Head of Information Delivery is to secure sustainable access to electronic scholarly information for research communities in developing countries by: * ensuring local ownership of publisher negotiations and licensing through enhancing capacities of developing country partners; * maximising awareness and use of electronic research information through working in partnership with library and research communities in developing countries; * ensuring publishers' continued commitment to sustainable, affordable pricing of electronic information resources; * promoting awareness of issues around access to information in developing countries amongst international scholarly publishers; * responding to the research needs of in-country partners by negotiating affordable licenses to electronic information resources. Requirements: * Minimum 5 years experience working in library or publishing sector * Proven negotiation and/or sales skills * Interest in/experience of facilitating participatory learning * Knowledge of/interest in developing countries * Project management experience including budget responsibilities * Goal-oriented approach * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Willingness to travel overseas Application letters and CVs should be sent to Nicki Sutherland nsutherland@inasp.info Closing date: 30 June 2006
