***PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT***
PVLR ALA Open Forum, New Orleans, Monday June 26
- University Presses: Rising to the Challenge -
Want to know more about how University Presses are embracing the
challenges facing scholarly publishing?
What does it take for a UP to thrive these days?
How are the Presses dealing with shrinking markets, working to
provide the new services electronic technology allows, developing
new marketing strategies, reorganizing and retraining their
staff?
Where do libraries come in?
In this, the first of two Forums devoted to the state of the
University Presses (the second to follow at Midwinter 2007), the
ALCTS Publisher- Vendor-Library Relations Interest Group has
brought together distinguished representatives of the University
Press book and journal publishing communities for an open
discussion of their strategies for success.
To find out more, and to contribute to the dialog, join us at the PVLR
