In this new article published in Serials, the author calculated=20
the article costs under two Open Access models: (1) Simple model=20
-- the publisher's costs are covered by a single source, and (2)=20
Hybrid model -- the publisher's costs are covered by a complex=20
combination of two (or more) elements, such as the payment by the=20
author, subscription fees, the institution=92s affiliation, etc.

"The results shown in Table 4 are very clear. Publication costs=20
for CERN under the IOP open access model would be at least nine=20
times more expensive than the current subscription fee of JHEP."=20
(p. 56), and

"the publication cost for CERN under Springer Open Choice model=20
would be at least five times more expensive than the current=20
subscription fee" (p. 57). These results were also confirmed by=20
the PLoS model. The author concludes from her analysis that, "in=20
general, the open access models available would be more expensive=20
for CERN than the cost of periodical subscriptions." (p. 57)

These results again support the position that large research=20
institutions would pay more in a producer-pays model, yet the=20
irrational belief that everyone pays less in this business model=20
is still promulgated.
