******************Please excuse the cross posting************* Arrive early at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in New Orleans to enjoy the revitalized city and to attend the Association of Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) Thursday morning pre-conference session on ERMS implementations. The ALCTS Serials Section, the ALCTS Acquisitions Section, the ALCTS/LITA Electronic Resources Management Interest Group and the North American Serials Interest Group are co-sponsoring: ERMS Implementations: Are We Taming the Electronic Tiger? Thursday, June 22, 2006 8:30 am - 12:00 pm Moderator: Norm Medeiros, Haverford College Presenters: Rosemary Arneson, University of Montevallo (SerialsSolutions) Rochelle Ballard, Princeton University (Endeavor) Trisha Davis/Celeste Feather, Ohio State University (Innovative Interfaces) Jennifer Weintraub, Yale University (ExLibris) Barbara Weir, Swarthmore College (VTLS) Electronic resources management is a key issue for all libraries today, no matter how large or small. This program will provide the librarians' perspective on the process of implementing a commercial electronic resources management system (ERMS), with particular focus on implementation strategies and challenges. If electronic resources at your library are wildly out of control, or even simply consuming the majority of your time and effort, register for this pre-conference and find out whether an ERMS will help you tame your electronic tiger! See the ALCTS website for more information: http://www.ala.org/ala/alcts/alctsconted/alctsceevents/alctspreconf/ermsimplementations.htm You can register for the pre-conference online at www.ala.org through May 19, 2006. ALCTS and the pre-conference planners would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank three corporate sponsors for generously helping to underwrite the costs of this program: ExLibris Innovative Interfaces, Inc.
