Outside of routine licensing review, the two areas that we've been working with our legal counsel on have to do with 1) copyright policy and interpretation -- i.e., trying to devise "official" UAB answers to the typical questions that faculty have; and 2) trying to sort through the relevant legal status of affiliates -- for example, UAB has entered into management agreements with several local hospitals -- are those agreements structured in such a way that the employees of those hospitals are now covered by our licenses or do we have to negotiate separate exceptions for them, and how can we craft the legal language of those agreements to make it all as easy as possible for everybody?
