RE: The religion of peer review



It is not necessary to rely on argumentation and personal 
experiences on the topic of peer review.

Unlike many of the problems we must deal with, there is 
considerable evidence of a high scientific standard, nicely 
summarized by T. jefferson et al. in JAMA v.287(21) June 5, 2002 
p 2786-90, + online tables.

This is part of a comprehensive Peer Review Congress constituting 
almost all of that issue, p. 2759- 2871 + online tables, all

Those wishing to contribute opinions or anecdotes should first 
read the evidence.
