Head, Resource Development Department
Florida International University Libraries invites applications for Head, Resource Development Department, University Park Green Library
Functions: Directs the acquisition of all library materials, and management of electronic resources. Oversees acquisitions and serials units, and participates in the implementation of ALEPH (the new library management system). Coordinates the shift from print journal back-runs to online collections. Works with the Associate Director for Collection Management on collection analyses and strategic planning. Deals with vendors and consortia. Supervises the work of nine support staff.
Qualifications: Minimum - ALA-MLS, with library or equivalent experience; Desired - Experience with budget management, accounting, and licensing.
Rank and Salary: Non-tenured faculty status; rank and salary are competitive based upon qualifications and experience.
Benefits: 22 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave per year; TIAA/CREF
or other retirement options, health/life insurance options.
Library Setting: The Green Library accommodates state of the art information technology. Total library collections comprise more than 1.6 million volumes and subscriptions to more than 19,000 scholarly journals, access to over 275 databases and services, a Geographic Information Systems Center and a Digital Collections Center.
