Please pass this on to possible candidates and referring agencies. ----------------------- UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO LIBRARIES JEAN BLACKWELL HUTSON LIBRARY RESIDENCY PROGRAM The Jean Blackwell Hutson Library Residency Program offers a minority or economically disadvantaged individual the opportunity to pursue a challenging career in academic librarianship through a two-year, post-M.L.S. position at the University at Buffalo Libraries. Residents are introduced to the rapidly changing complexities of academic librarianship through reference and instructional services, collection development, technical and access services, Web development, administrative assignments and special projects. Strong professional development support is provided along with enthusiastic mentoring. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of the M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited institution within the last two years. Applicants should have no more than two years of post-M.L.S. professional experience. Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work within a team environment, general knowledge of electronic information sources, commitment to scholarship/professional development, and be a member of a minority or economically disadvantaged group. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required. SALARY AND BENEFITS: Appointment to a non-tenure-track, non-renewable, two-year position as Information Literacy Librarian with a minimum salary of $38,000; 15 annual vacation days; health and dental benefits; choice of retirement options including TIAA/CREF; tuition assistance; full support to attend two professional conferences annually.
