ESC'S Europace announces new partnership with Oxford Journals

Today the European Heart Rhythm Association of the European Society for
Cardiology (ESC) announced that from 2006 its prestigious journal,
Europace, will be published by Oxford Journals.

This new agreement is the second of the ESC's titles to join Oxford
Journals, following The European Heart Journal in January 2005. As a
department of Oxford University Press, Oxford Journals is well placed to
meet the aims of Europace and the ESC, by focussing on providing the
highest quality research to the widest possible audience.

Europace - The European Journal of Pacing, Arrhythmias and Cardiac
Electrophysiology is the official journal of the European Heart Rhythm
Association of the European Society for Cardiology (ESC). Aiming to reduce
the impact of cardiovascular disease, the journal provides original
peer-reviewed top quality European and international scientific work and
reviews in the fields of Arrhythmias, Pacing, and Cardiac
Electrophysiology.

"Oxford Journals has successfully published journals on behalf of some of the
world's most prestigious societies for over a century, and we are delighted that the ESC
have entrusted us with this second major title, commented Mandy Hill, Head of Science
and Medical journals, Editorial Department, Oxford Journals. She continued, "We

readers."  Europace joins Oxford Journals' collection of highly cited medical
journals from January 2006.

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) comprises 49 National Cardiac
Societies, representing more than 45,000 cardiology professionals across
central and greater Europe. The mission of the ESC is 'to improve the
quality of life of the European population by reducing the impact of
cardiovascular disease'.

The ESC is committed to setting the standard of cardiology practice in
Europe and achieves this through conducting surveys, rolling out
educational programmes and setting official guidelines on clinical
practice and prevention programmes. Europace is one of the 7 official
journals of the ESC, including Cardiovascular Research, The European Heart
Journal, the European Journal on Heart Failure, the European Journal on
Echocardiography, the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, and the
European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation.

The annual ESC Congress is the largest medical meeting in Europe with an
attendance of over 25,000. In parallel to the ESC Congress, the ESC stages
an annual public communication event on cardiovascular disease prevention
