I have been asked by ScholarOne Inc to help in recruiting a European Sales Manager, to be based in the UK. ScholarOne is a market leader in scholarly journal publishing systems for online submission, peer-review and process control. Its client base includes some of the most prestigious names in scholarly publishing, ranging from large publishers such as Blackwell and Wiley to small and medium-sized publishers including many learned societies and publishers such as American Academy of Pediatrics, Canadian Medical Association, Mary Ann Liebert and Georg Thieme Verlag. Its headquarters is in Charlottesville, Virginia. We are looking for a self-starting individual, based in the UK, to build on its existing client base in Europe: * creating new accounts within the vibrant European scholarly publishing community, and * managing and expanding existing accounts to establish an effective relationship with each client to ensure satisfaction with ScholarOne's products and services. You will be educated to degree level and have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in sales and client management and be fully conversant with Internet technology. Some knowledge of or experience in the academic and scholarly publishing industry is desirable. ScholarOne is a rapidly growing company with excellent prospects. Salary will be GBP 35-40,000, plus commission. Please apply by e-mail to me, as ScholarOne's consultant, with a full resume/CV, telling me what you can bring to ScholarOne.
