Date: Fri, 22 Jul 2005 14:48:36 -0400 (EDT) From: Elizabeth Biggs <Liz@esa.org> Ecological Society of America Announces Price Reduction for Online Access The Ecological Society of America is pleased to announce a new pricing structure for subscriptions to their journals Ecology, Ecological Monographs, Ecological Applications, and Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment. Beginning in 2006, all library subscribers will receive print-plus-online access for the same cost as print-only. The result means greater access to current, in-depth information on the environmental and life sciences for patrons, at a rate sensitive to the needs of budget-conscious librarians. Former and current print-plus-online subscribers at the medium and large institutional rates in particular should find these changes a welcome relief, as these prices will be dramatically lower than 2005, although all libraries should benefit. On-line subscriptions for 2006 will also include access to ESA journal archives dating back to January 1997. Journals prior to 1997 are linked through your JSTOR subscription. All journals are fully searchable, and include links to other ESA articles, Ecological Archives and MedLine. Already substantially less costly than commercial journals in the ecological and life sciences, ESAs journals provide students, faculty, and researchers with the latest articles and peer-reviewed research in the field. Their ISI impact factor rating places them among the top primary research journals in ecology; Ecology leads all journals reporting original research findings in the field in total number of citations and number of citations per dollar, and articles in Ecological Monographs are cited more frequently than articles in any other ecological journal publishing primary research papers. More information on each of the individual journals is available at www.esa.org. For a 2006 price list, e-mail membership@esa.org or call 202-833-8773. ####
