Available today at http://site.ebrary.com/lib/anysite/Download, the ebrary Reader features even more functionality to make the research experience richer and more productive including customizable bibliographical citation formats and refined InfoTools search. The new Reader also now supports both Firefox and Mozilla Web browsers in addition to Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator. "ebrary is committed to continually enhancing our product and developing new offerings based upon input from our customers. Our ultimate goal is to improve the way students and professionals conduct research," said David Bass, ebrary's Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "With this newest release of the ebrary Reader, our customers now have even more options for finding, accessing, and utilizing the information they need online." The ebrary Reader is a key component of the ebrary Dynamic Content Platform (DCP), which combines patent-pending technology with a growing repository of more than 60,000 full-text books and other authoritative documents from more than 200 leading academic, STM, and professional publishers. ebrary licenses its DCP and collections of content to more than 600 libraries in more than 62 different countries. For an overview of the DCP, take the Flash demo at <http://www.ebrary.com/corp/ebraryflash.htm> Among other benefits, the ebrary Reader enables PDF documents to be delivered to a user's desktop one page at a time, eliminating the need for cumbersome document downloads. It also gives PDF documents word level interaction through InfoTools. Simply by selecting a word or phrase then activating the InfoTools menu, a user can instantly link out to additional resources in ebrary's repository, the library, or on the Web. To see how InfoTools works, take the Flash demo at <http://www.ebrary.com/corp/flash/infotools.swf> New ebrary Reader features include the following: Customizable Citations -- ebrary now offers four different citation styles including Modern Language Association (MLA), American Psychological Association (APA), Alliance for Computers and Writing (ACW), and the ebrary default. Citations are automatically included when users copy and paste or print pages along with a URL to the exact page from which the information was obtained. Refined InfoTools Search -- End users can now instantly conduct advanced searches across all ebrary documents using the Search All Documents menu item on InfoTools. They can search for key words and phrases using a number of combinations including by full text, subject, title, contributor (author), or publisher. Results appear in a new browser window, so users never lose their initial place of reference. The search terms are automatically added to ebrary's Advanced Search tab, where the search may be further refined. Scale to Width -- The ebrary Reader now allows users to view documents scaled to the width of the document viewing area. Other options include scale to fit, show facing pages, and zoom to 100, 150 or 200 percent. About ebrary ebrary provides technology solutions and information services that students, employees, patrons, and staff need to be more productive, competitive, and knowledgeable. All ebrary products feature the ebrary Reader, which optimizes online viewing through the real-time conversion of PDF documents into ebrary's Exchange Data Format (EDF). EDF serves any PDF file, regardless of size, through any connected Internet browser, one page at a time, making the delivery fast and efficient for the viewer. InfoTools is an advanced set of software features within the ebrary Reader that provides much more powerful and efficient research capabilities than editorial-based linking or multiple search queries. By selecting words within a current document, end users can instantly link to relevant information from other EDF or PDF documents, digital databases, and resources on the Web.
