Workshop reminder -- Negotiating Electronic Licenses (Second try, with apologies)

(Apologies to those who got a blank message under this subject header
yesterday. Hopefully it will work better this time...)

Become a Pro at Negotiating Electronic Licenses

It's not too late to register for MLA's January 26thwebcast, "Tips for
Negotiating Electronic Licenses." This innovative program is part two of
the popular electronic licensing teleconference held last September.
Note: this is NOT a repeat of the Fall teleconference, but a new program
that walks you through specific licensing negotiations.

Medical librarian Elizabeth R. Lorbeer, collection development manager,
Library of Rush University, will negotiate specific clauses of a license
agreement with publisher Mark Danderson, director, International Business
Development, New England Journal of Medicine; and librarian Rick Anderson,
director of resource acquisition, Libraries, University of Nevada-Reno,
and John Cox, managing director, John Cox Associates, Towcester,
Northants, UK, will give insights and suggestions for ways you can work
with a publisher to reach agreement on issues such as fair use,
interlibrary loan, post-termination access, and performance standards.

Through Monday, January 24th, MLA is offering group (sites where multiple
viewers watch from one location), individual (watch from your own computer
if you can not get to a site), and multisite (allows sites that are part
of the same organization or institution to register together and receive a
volume discount) registration options. Link to more information, including
registration details, or email Deb Cavanaugh or phone 312.419.9094 x32.
