Chris assumes the role on February 1, 2005, replacing Mark Houlton who retired from Blackwell after 14 years with the company. Chris will oversee global finances, as well as human resources and facility operations within the UK. He will be a member of Blackwell Publishing's management committee and will serve on the company's board of directors. Rene Olivieri, Blackwell Publishing's Chief Executive Officer said, "I am delighted to welcome Chris to our executive team. He is a genuine team player and strong leader with considerable experience in publishing, finance, and technology." After qualifying with Coopers & Lybrand, Chris joined Rothmans International spending 8 years as group finance director for their Caribbean business. During his 12 years with Oxford University Press he held several senior management and director positions in financial operations finishing as deputy group finance director.=A0 Chris spent 5 years in the international cinema and technology sectors and was most recently the group finance director for Earthport plc.
