Apologies for cross-posting The presentations of the recently concluded conference "JPGM GoldCon: 50 Years of Medical Writing: An International Conference on Medical Writing, Editing and Publishing" have been made available on the journal's website (http://www.jpgmonline.com). This unique event, organized as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Journal of Postgraduate Medicine, was attended by over 400 participants and faculty members from 11 countries. Two concurrent sessions on 24th and 25th September were devoted to issues related to writing, editing and publishing, where experts from WHO, BMJ, BioMedCentral and several Indian journals participated (http://www.jpgmonline.com/gc_pdetails2.asp). An entire day was devoted to open access publishing and archiving wherein experts like Stevan Harnad, Subbiah Arunachalam, Pritpal S. Tamber, P. Balaram, Eric Hellman, T. B. Rajshekhar and others debated various issues related to access to information (http://www.jpgmonline.com/gc_pdetails4.asp). The site also provides a comprehensive list of resources on various aspects of writing, editing and open access (http://www.jpgmonline.com/gc_resource.asp). Video proceedings (DVDs) of the conference will be made available soon; details will be posted on the journal'swebsite. The conference was supported by Open Society Institute (OSI), International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP), British Council, India and other agencies.
