BioMed Central and JISC announced on 17 June that all 180 UK universities will become BioMed Central members on 1 July. From this date article-processing charges will be waived - for all UK higher education staff - when publishing in any of BioMed Central's 90+ peer-reviewed journals in which all research content is freely accessible. The membership is made possible by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), a joint committee of HEFCE and other UK further and higher education funding bodies. More than 80,000 biology and medical researchers working at UK universities can now share their research findings freely with fellow researchers, funding bodies, students, journalists, and the general public worldwide. Full details are available on the BioMed Central site in our press release <http://www.biomedcentral.com/info/about/pr-releases?pr=20030617> and a special information page <http://www.biomedcentral.com/info/about/aclib_membership> Grace Baynes Marketing Communications Manager BioMed Central Middlesex House 34-42 Cleveland Street London W1T 4LB T: +44 (0)20 7631 9988 F: +44 (0)20 7580 1938 grace.baynes@biomedcentral.com http://www.biomedcentral.com/
