For the International Coalition of Library Consortia's "Statememt of Current Perspective and Preferred Practices for the Selection and Purchase of Electronic Information" and commentary about it, please see the new issue of SERIALS REVIEW, Volume 29, Number 1, 2003. The editor of SR has reproduced "Update No. 1" of this Statement, dated December 2001, which can also found on the web, with its predecessor statement of March 1998, at <http://www.library.yale.edu/consortia>). On pages 3-8 find commentary about this Statement by Connie Foster, SR Editor; Ann Okerson (Yale/NERL); Knut Dorn, Danny Jones, and Katharina Klepmerer (Harrassowitz); and Dan Tonkery (EBSCO). We hope that this feature in Serials Review will draw attention to a substantive position statement by the members of an organization (ICOLC) that is growing in importance and international coverage/influence. --
