The BMJ Publishing Group, Inc. has opened a sales and marketing office in
Philadelphia, PA, to better serve the information needs of librarians and
health professionals working in education, research and clinical practice
within health care in the US and Canada.  According to BMJ Publishing
Group Chief Executive Richard Smith, "Establishing a North American office
will bring us into closer daily contact with the healthcare community in
the U.S. and Canada.  We are committed to continuing to provide the
excellent service that our customers expect and deserve." The North
American office is now responsible for:

..	Consortial and multi-site sales and customer support
..	Product information
..	Marketing and promotion

for all the BMJ publications which in addition to the British Medical
Journal, include more than 20 journals of exceptional impact and clinical
relevance such as Heart, Gut, Journal of Medical Genetics, Thorax, and
Tobacco Control. Outcomes and evidence based publications such as Clinical
Evidence and the journals of Evidence Based Medicine and Evidence Based
