Of possible interest; see item 62.1 below. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 09:04:22 -0500 From: DJones@ottosvc.com Subject: HARRASSOWITZ NEWS No. 62, 17 October, 2002 HARRASSOWITZ NEWS No. 62, 17 October, 2002 ---------- CONTENTS ---------- 62.1 Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins (LWW) print and online subscriptions now may be ordered through HARRASSOWITZ 62.2 OttoEditions Library Notes now print on slips shipped with books ordered in OttoEditions ---------- 62.1 Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins (LWW) print and online subscriptions now may be ordered through HARRASSOWITZ HARRASSOWITZ met at the Frankfurt Book Fair with Dean M. Vogel, President & CEO of Ovid Technologies, Barbara M. Colton, Executive Vice President of LWW, Mary Fugle, Director of Library & Trade Relations of LWW, and Maureen Stotler Connors, Vice President, Customer Service, Circulation and Distribution of LWW to discuss how we can cooperate in order to meet our customers' needs. On October 15, 2002, Mary Fugle issued the following statement to subscription agents: "Upon further consideration of our intentions announced in June of this year [Reported in HARRASSOWITZ News 58.1, August 5, 2002], Lippincott Williams and Wilkins has determined that it is in our mutual customers' best interest to allow subscription agents to handle the billing for both their print journals and their electronic access for the 2003 renewal period, providing the agent's customer requests such assistance. . . Customers may obtain electronic access to the LWW Society titles via any of the historically available platforms. All non-Society titles will have electronic access on the Ovid platform. Print subscriptions will be handled by LWW, as in the past." So, libraries may continue to order their LWW print and online subscriptions from HARRASSOWITZ. As we understand, the major change is that the LWW e-journals will now be supplied by Ovid rather than the LWW platform. Most of the LWW Society journals are also available through HighWire Press. Contact Ulrike Moeller, umoeller@harrassowitz.de, for further information about ordering Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins print and electronic subscriptions through HARRASSOWITZ. ---------- [SNIP] ------------- HARRASSOWITZ NEWS is distributed on an irregular frequency.
