This is still very new, but these are the details which we have now: Divine, inc. is a Chicago-based, publicly traded company which was formed in May 1999 as divine interVentures inc., an Internet holding company with interests in several e-commerce ventures. In February 2001, the company changed its name to divine inc. Since its inception, divine has invested in and built software and service capabilities that support the infrastructure, communication, branding and knowledge management needs of organizations worldwide. The company delivers a combination of procurement services, web-based technology and managed applications capabilities that enable organizations to better manage information, engage their constituents and develop new market opportunities. Backed by industry leaders including Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and Computer Associates, divine has recently made several strategic acquisitions including leading portal development company Sagemaker, and IT consulting and management company Whittman-Hart. Faxon/RoweCom=92s experience with helping organizations to manage and acquire information and its relationship with thousands of libraries and publishers make it particularly attractive to divine. Divine will be a strong financial partner and resource for RoweCom, which will operate as a separate division committed to enhancing the services provided by its library and desktop teams. We are excited about the financial stability and the possibilities this pending acquisition offers for us and for our clients. Questions about the acquisition may be addressed to me at the contact information below, or to Jim Krzywicki, COO, RoweCom, Inc.
