While on the fringe of this list's focus, the following is an indication of the absurdities surrounding e-licensing and how they may affect other media. The February 2001 issue of American Libraries contains a 19" X 25" poster from the US Postal Service. On the bottom, following a list of sponsors is a note: "Written authorization from the USPS is required to use, reproduce . . . [republish, etc] or PUBLICLY DISPLAY THIS POSTER." Inexplicably, it was not labelled, burn before opeing. K.
