This was posted to multiple listservs. The Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA) is looking for a energetic and capable individual to fill new position of Electronic Resources Coordinator. RANK: Assistant-in-Libraries Application Deadline: February 23, 2001 Salary: minimum $38,000 commensurate with experience. All of the details can be found at: http://www.fcla.edu/FCLAinfo/vacancy/ercoord.html Some particulars are: ENVIRONMENT: The Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA) provides support services to the libraries of the 10 universities in the State University System (SUS). It is an agency of the SUS, located in Gainesville, and administered by the University of Florida (UF). The services are based on a single, shared installation of a Library Management System plus FCLA-developed software. FCLA has 30 employees and currently licenses approximately 200 databases from about 20 providers for the SUS libraries. More information can be found at http://www.fcla.edu. JOB SUMMARY: Working in a team environment, this position assists the Assistant Director for Library Services as liaison to the State University System's Electronic Collections Committee (ECC); soliciting initial and renewal price quotes; licensing negotiation; preparing order requisitions and handling billing problems. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be managing the technical aspects of these resources such access control and customization of individual, institutional interface configurations; producing statistical reports for both onsite and offsite resources; and developing a license information website for the SUS libraries. Also, this position assists in the development of all FCLA services as appropriate and performs other duties as assigned. BENEFITS: Twelve month appointment on an annual contract. Twenty-two days vacation, thirteen days sick leave and nine paid holidays per year. Retirement plan options, group health plan, and life insurance available. No local or state income tax. Snow is extremely infrequent. Beaches and fresh-water springs are near.
