AIR PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS, INC. Information Technology Specialist - Electronic Content Librarian - Allentown, PA Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a leading worldwide producer of industrial gases and chemicals, seeks an Electronic Content Librarian to join the Information & Library Services Department at our corporate headquarters in Allentown, PA. The selected candidate will build and promote a virtual library of chemical, scientific, engineering and business information to meet the needs of a global user base. You will work in partnership with researchers, engineers and business professionals as well as information content and technology specialists to bring critical information in a variety of innovative electronic formats to the Air Products community. Primary job responsibilities: 1) Lead and participate on project teams that evaluate, implement and promote electronic content for sci/tech and business information. 2) Negotiate license agreements for new and existing information content (electronic, print and related media) with information industry suppliers. 3) Educate research, technical and business professionals to effectively use electronic resources. Qualifications: 1) Bachelor's degree in library, information science or information systems. Master's degree from accredited school of information and library science is preferred. 2) Two years experience in medium to large scale industrial or academic libraries with responsibilities for electronic content licensing and deployment. 3) Demonstrated skills in time and problem management, teamwork, communications and leadership. 4) Creativity, high personal energy level, flexibility in adapting to change and project management are necessary. 5) Ability to function in a collaborative, service-oriented, team-based environment. 6) Successful candidates will have worked with advanced information technology, and understand the information industry, issues and trends regarding copyright, electronic publishing, redistribution and digital archives as well as their impact on libraries and corporations as users of information.
