CE Course - Licensing Electronic Resources - Phila, PA

A full day continuing education course presented by the
Philadelphia Regional Chapter, Medical Library Association

Harry Youtt, JD, Writer, Attorney, Instructor, UCLA and UC Irvine

This course helps to bring us up to speed in the age of digital
licensing.  It provides a primer on:

* what the digital license is intended to accomplish
* the meaning of its essential terms
* the nature of the contract process and how it affects Copyright Law
and standards

In addition, the course features: 

* a clause-by-clause analysis of an existing license agreement
* methods for developing a model for license management for your library 
* tips for negotiating strategies
* forms for individual library licensing needs assessment
* techniques for building a productive relationship with the legal
  department


Location: 	Penn State Great Valley, Malvern, Pennsylvania (outside
		Philadelphia)
Date:		Friday, October 6, 2000
Time:           8:00 am - 5:00 pm
                One hour break for lunch with box lunch provided
Credit: 	MLA has approved this class for 8 contact hours
