What technical solutions are implemented in american university libraries (or big public libraries) to ensure security for campus-wide or remote electronic access? In particular : -If connexions go through a proxy server, how do you guarantee that license terms will be respected ? -Does the system work by patron identification, IP recognition? With special software? -What about statistics? -For public access computers inside libraries, how do you securise computers and forbid indesirable internet services (chat...)? I'd also be interested by literature and links on the subject.
