Liability language
Dear Liblicense-l Readers: Miner Library at the University of Rochester created an opening page when we brought up ISI's Web of Science to help satisfy the liability language of the license agreement. The wording follows: Copyright 1997 - Institute for Scientific InformationO Web of Science provides Internet access to Science Citation Index ExpandedO, Social Sciences Citation IndexO, and Arts & Humanities Citation IndexO. The Database can be accessed from any workstation with Internet access on the University of Rochester campus including the University of Rochester Medical Center and the Eastman Dental Center. Remote users who receive Internet access through ACC can also access Web of Science. We are working on providing access for remote users who receive Internet access through other Internet service providers. Use of this Database is restricted to University of Rochester faculty, students, researchers and staff. This Database is the sole and exclusive property of the Institute for Scientific InformationO and is protected by the copyright laws of the United States. Users of this Database are authorized to print and download full or partial results of SDI searches and online interactive searches for personal or internal business use, as governed by the terms of the License Agreement. Users are not authorized to distribute data retrieved from the Database in any form (printed, electronically relayed, posted to public list services or bulletin boards, or magnetically stored) to, or for the benefit of, anyone who is not an authorized user of the Database. Nor are users authorized to create subsets or derivative databases from the Database except as permitted above.
