An IAC representative told a VIVA committee last year that in any given
year they lose about 5% of their titles because the publishers choose not
to renew the contract. IAC also picks up new titles, so that the total
number stays about the same, but they can not guarantee that you will
always have access to the same titles. I'd imagine that would be true for
all the index cum full-text services and that similar principles will
apply to the aggregators. Alas, it may be that the only way to be sure
you're getting a title is to deal with the publisher (though of course
even then some titles are published under contract with societies, who may
take their business elsewhere).
