It seems to me that restricting access to domain should be a simpler 
solution than trying to control a password.  We have a couple of online 
subscriptions (MD Consult, DXplain for starters) and access is restricted 
to several IP domains we use on our campus.  Anyone using our Homepage 
can get to these titles from any University domain.
