fair use

I don't know if I was reading Adele Bain's message or Stan Diamond's but
it appeared to me that Stan Diamond was saying that he assumed that
whatever was fair use in print media would be fair use in electronic
media, and I don't think it is safe to say that. A number of us have just
spent two years in the ConFU discussions arguing about that very
distinction.

The four basic principles of fair use will surely apply, but to say what
applies in one medium will apply in the other would be misleading, because
reproduction (and distortion and so on) is so much easier and faster in
electronic media and copyright owners are NOT going to be relaxed about
it. This is definitely not a "safe harbor."
