RE: US consumer purchase of international editions



Those of you who are copyright junkies may remember the case of
Quality King Distribs., Inc. v. L'Anza Research Int'l, Inc. (1998)
wherein the Supreme Court held that any lawfully made products could
be imported into the U.S. without infringing copyright. AAP's Allan
Adler reminds me of another interesting case looming involving
importation where the issue is raised whether the first-sale doctrine
applies only to works manufactured in the U.S. Here is a brief
