RE: settling a dispute



In my experience librarians are the biggest defenders of 
copyright in academia.  No library that I know of would think 
that you can openly put a book on the web that is still protected 
by copyright.  Faculty outside of the library tend to think that 
all information is free - one of the issues that has hurt 
libraries considerably during the move to online access.
