FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 6, 2008

BioOne Announces 2009 Collections, Pricing

BioOne (www.bioone.org) is pleased to welcome 12 new titles and
their respective not-for-profit publishers to the 2009 BioOne
Collections. Nine ISI-ranked titles from around the world,
including Malacologia, published by the Institute of Malacology,
will join the BioOne.2 collection, now in its third year.
Tree-Ring Research, the esteemed journal of the Tree-Ring
Society, will complement the BioOne.1 collection in 2009, and two
titles, including Marine & Coastal Fisheries, published by the
American Fisheries Society, will join the BioOne Open Access
collection.

Due to these additions, BioOne is now home to 149 total
publications, 99 of which (66%) are ISI-ranked. Furthermore, 60
of BioOne's titles (40%) have their current content available
online exclusively through BioOne. All new and existing titles
will debut on January 6, 2009 on BioOne's new Atypon-powered
platform, serviced by Allen Press. The new BioOne web site will
provide our publishing partners with a sophisticated,
highly-branded web presence and end users with a dynamic,
powerful interface.

2009 pricing for BioOne.1 will increase 5% across most US pricing
bands from 2008 rates. Despite the significant increase in quality
content, for the second straight year 2009 rates for BioOne.2 will not
increase. Libraries that subscribe to BioOne.1 but have not yet
purchased BioOne.2 are encouraged to take a second look. To schedule a
free trial or for pricing information, please contact BioOne North
American Sales Manager Donna Loews at donna.loews@bioone.org.

About BioOne

Established in 2000, BioOne (www.bioone.org) is the product of
innovative collaboration between scientific societies, libraries,
academe, and the private sector, who seek a sustainable, mission-
driven alternative to commercial publishing. BioOne brings to the

high-impact bioscience research journals. Most of BioOne's titles
are published by small societies and non-commercial publishers.
