Palgrave Macmillan acquires journals and books from Perpetuity Press Ltd

Palgrave Macmillan, the academic and professional publishing division of
Macmillan Publishers Ltd, announced today that it has acquired three
journals and twenty one books from Perpetuity Press Ltd. The list
encompasses the company's publishing programme in the field of crime, risk
and security.

The three journals are the Security Journal edited by Professor Martin
Gill and Professor Bonnie Fisher, Crime Prevention and Community Safety,
edited by Professor Rob Mawby and Risk Management edited by Professor
Dominic Elliott. Palgrave Macmillan have also acquired twenty-one books
including two forthcoming titles; A Handbook of Security, edited by Martin
Gill and Retail Security and Loss Prevention (2nd edition) by Read Hayes.

Dominic Knight, Managing Director of Palgrave Macmillan, said:

The journals will benefit from Palgrave Macmillan's international sales

Palgrave Macmillan now publishes 60 journals. The programme has grown
considerably over the last five years and includes such notable titles as
Journal of the Operational Research Society, Journal of International
Business Studies, Development and Feminist Review.

The books will form part of Palgrave Macmillan's extensive book publishing
programme, which includes influential and innovative scholarly books,
college textbooks and professional books by leading international authors.
The list of both journals and books will be managed from the Palgrave
Macmillan head office in Basingstoke, UK.

Perpetuity conferences is holding a sequence of conferences in 2006, on
"What Works in Security and Crime Prevention", "Preventing Fraud", "CCTV
and Policing", and plans are afoot for a conference on 'Buying and Selling
Security'.
