In This Issue: Virtual Seminar on Shrink-wrap Licensing Offered by SLA and
AALL (Sept. 28, 2005)
 
The Special Libraries Association (SLA) and the American Association of
Law Libraries (AALL) are jointly offering a virtual seminar, "Shrink-wrap
Licenses and Click-wrap Licenses: Why Should Information Professionals
Care?" on September 28, 2005, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET The speaker will be
Jonathan Franklin, Associate Law Librarian, Gallagher Law Library,
University of Washington. The seminar will only address non-negotiated
license agreements and will provide an introductory framework to
understand the legal concepts basic to licensing, a walk-through review of
a shrink-wrap license and the implications of standard form terms that
affect libraries.
 
NOTE: ALA members can take advantage of the $99 member rate through
AFFECT. The cost is based on a per site basis. One site paying $99 can
offer the seminar to as many of its staff as it wants.
