REQUIRES

Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) Trainees

No. of positions: 11 [GEN-4, OBC-2, SC-1, ST-1, and Sponsored Candidates-03]

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ist Class Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with minimum of II Class
Master's Degree in Library/Information Science or Associateship in
Documentation/Information Science awarded by DRTC or INSDOC. One or two
years of experience in a Library/Information Centre and basic knowledge of
computers is desirable.

OR

Ist Class B.E., M.B.B.S., or M.Sc with a minimum of one year experience in
information handling.

2. SC/ST candidates with pass class will also be considered.

3. The sponsored candidates should forward their application through
proper channel. No stipend will be paid to sponsored candidates.

Training is for a period of 18 months w.e.f. 01.08.2005 on a stipend of
Rs.5,000/- per month (Fixed). Visit our website at

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Only those who have completed their qualifying examinations and have been
awarded the degrees on the date of advertisement, need apply. The
Institute will have no obligation to absorb the canditates on completion
of the training. No accommodation will be available on the Institute
campus.

Candidates who are desirous to be considered strictly on the aforesaid
conditions may duly fill the Online Application Registration form
available at http://www.ncsi.iisc.ernet.in/training/online.htm. A hard
copy of the online application registration form along with photocopies of
Marks Cards, Cast Certificate of SC, ST, or OBC (OBC certifcate should be
in the GOI format for reservations of jobs), in case of PH candidates,
copy of medical certificate in the prescribed form issued by the Competent
Medical Authority for the purpose of employment, should be sent on or
