from appropriate sources, the Product Manager will establish production
goals, priorities and deadlines as well as develop and implement a plan
for meeting these goals. This will require the upgrading of tools and
technologies as needed to maintain maximum efficiency. Additionally, the
Production Manager will be accountable for project planning, monitoring
projects and quality control including, but not limited to, conducting
research on costs and feasibility of digitizing potential new collections
(in collaboration with other IDR staff), preparing detailed digitization
plans in collaboration with content holders, and serving as IDR's
principal liaison to metadata standard developers and imaging specialists
in the educational, cultural, and scholarly communities.
