E-Resources Acqs Lib Position at UC Irvine Libraries



Electronic Resources Acquisitions Librarian

The Libraries of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) invite
applications for the position of Electronic Resources Acquisitions
Librarian in the Acquisitions Department. Excellent qualified librarians
with less than five years post-MLS professional experience are encouraged
to apply.  The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience within the range of $37,920 - $52,620 (Assistant Librarian I -
Associate Librarian IV).

Reporting to the Head of the Acquisitions Department with a secondary
reporting line to the Head of Collection Development, the position is
responsible for acquiring and ensuring ongoing access to electronic
resources and works collaboratively with other library departments and
divisions.  Works closely with approximately 25 subject specialists and
serves as a liaison between Collections and the Technical Services
Division in the efficient and effective integration of electronic
resources into the UCI Libraries collections. Negotiates and manages
licenses and contracts related to electronic resources in consultation
with subject specialists.

The Acquisitions Department is responsible for the ordering, receipt and
invoice processing for materials in all formats for the Main, Science and
Grunigen Medical Libraries.  The UCI Libraries have a materials budget of
approximately $7.5 million.  The department consists of 2 librarians, 17
library assistants and a varying number of student assistants.  The
department uses the Innovative Interfaces, Inc., as the Libraries� OPAC.
