Online news site uses digital watermarking to communicate ownership of
digital images and track unauthorized use

TUALATIN, Ore. - March 28, 2002 - Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC), the
world leader in covert digital watermarking solutions, announced today
that Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, publisher of washingtonpost.com,
has licensed the Enterprise Edition of the Digimarc ImageBridge Plus image
watermarking technology and the web-based Digimarc MarcSpider image
tracking service. The company is using the two products to mark online
images with embedded copyright information and to identify the
unauthorized use of images that appear on other web-based news sites.
