Subject: Professional Development Opportunities

My co-editors of Library Hi-Tech News, Colby Riggs, Philip Calvert and
myself are seeking contributors who want to write about copyright issues
for this monthly (10x/yr) newsletter. We invite librarians who want to
explore one or more of the following issues and welcome other ideas for
inclusion:

        1. Copyright legislation
        2. UCITA
        3. Digital Rights Management
        4. Implications of copyright compliance for different applications,
	ie, distance education,
        5. Licensing
        6. Other technology issues related to intellectual property in
	different library environments.

Articles of different lengths are encouraged and submissions can be made
via sending an attachment in WORD. Submissions should not have been
previously published. The readership of this newsletter is basically
North American Librarians and practitioners in all library environments
(academic, public, special, governmental) who share an interest in
library technology. This publication is issued in both print and
electronic formats, is available via the EMERALD database and can be
subscribed to either separately or as a package with the quarterly
publication, Library Hi-Tech.

Future deadlines are:
April 6 for June 2001 issue
May 14 for July 2001 issue
June 24 for August 2001 issue
        August 1 for Sept/Oct 2001 issue
Sept 5 for Nov 2001 issue
Oct 15 for Dec 2001 issue.

Thank you for your interest and consideration. Please forward all expressions
of interest to:
