Assistant Acquisitions Librarian for Electronic Resources 


ASSISTANT ACQUISITIONS LIBRARIAN FOR ELECTRONIC RESOURCES, CENTRAL
TECHNICAL SERVICES (ACQUISITIONS DEPARTMENT) UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES,
UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO:

Responsible for managing acquisitions services relating to continuing
electronic resources; specific responsibilities include creation and
selection of bibliographic records, serving as primary contact with
suppliers, placement and monitoring of orders, reviewing license terms in
relation to established University Libraries guidelines and maintaining
online file of license agreements, monitoring invoice and payment functions
and updating and maintaining links to electronic journals and other
electronic continuation; keeps abreast of developing trends and issues as
they relate to electronic resources.

QUALIFICATIONS: MLS from an ALA-accredited program is required. Experience
with technical processing of serials in an academic research Institution;
experience with serial cataloging and acquisitions procedures; demonstrated
ability to work effectively in a web-based environment are preferred.

SALARY/RANK: $30,000 or higher, competitive and commensurate with
qualification; faculty status at the rank of Assistant Librarian.
